Play for P.I.N.K: Updating Breast Cancer Research Fundraising with Mobile-Responsive Technologies and Social Media Marketing
Play for P.I.N.K raises over $4 million dollars each year, all of which goes directly to breast cancer research. Working closely with the founder, executive director and the board, Rayogram focused exclusively on their digital engagement strategy.
The website illustrates the diversity of P.I.N.K. fundraising events, from high school football tournaments to mah-jongg games, and offers multiple touchpoints for prospective volunteers to reach the organization and kick off their own local events. Built using Drupal and CiviCRM, the site acts as a fundraising platform supporting multiple fundraising campaigns while accepting events registrations and online donations.
We established P.I.N.K.’s social media marketing strategy and incorporated mailing list management, e-newsletter writing/design/fulfillment, events registrations, and peer-to-peer fundraising, specifically building community among volunteers and prospective fundraisers through Facebook and Twitter, ****and also managed their Google AdWords Grant. **is this important? not sure where to put
The site was enhanced with low-cost, low-maintenance third-party tools such as EventBrite and Mailchimp so that P.I.N.K. has complete autonomy, and benefits whenever those third-party software companies update their platforms. It’s a strateic decision rayogram often makes for non-profits, so they don’t bear the fiscal burdens of a custom site that would require rayogram to host, and for upgrades such as new features or security patches.
